Non-Latin-based mathematical notation

Modern Arabic mathematical notation is primarily based on the Arabic alphabet & is used widely in the Arab world, in pre-university levels of schooling. (Western notation makes use of Arabic numerals, but the Arabic notation also replaces Latin letters & related symbols with Arabic script.)

Some mathematical notations are mostly diagrammatic, & so are  entirely script independent. Examples are Penrose graphical notation & CoxeterâDynkin diagrams.

Braille-based mathematical notations used by blind people include Nemeth Braille & GS8 Braille.
